Straightforward, easy to use and effective medically supervised skincare is the hallmark of the Biophora system. Biophora is formulated on the principle that technically advanced skincare doesn’t have to be a regimen of expensive and complex steps to attain healthy, toned and more youthful-looking skin. We currently offer 3 in-spa chemical peels: Element exposed / normal aging, acne / oily skin and sensitive / dry skin.
Element Exposed / Normal Aging
The typical characteristics that identify this skin type are damage caused by over-exposure to the sun, harsh weather, pollutants, smoking, dehydration and age related conditions. An effective range of home care products is designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, minimize hyperpigmentation, plump fine lines, improve hydration, and revitalize a dull or tired appearance that often accompanies this skin type. Most patients will fall into this category.
Sensitive / Dry Skin
A smaller percentage of the population will experience particularly sensitive or dry skin. This category may include the lighter skin tones on the Fitzpatrick Scale, which are more sensitive to the sun, chemicals, fragrances, dyes, foods, rough fabrics, etc.
Conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis and Rosacea would also be included in this category. Biophora products for sensitive skin will help heal and normalize the skin perhaps even gradually allowing for the use of more progressive treatments and products.
Acne / Oily Skin
Acne or oily skin is characterized by the presence of pustules or pimples, large pores, blackheads, whiteheads or frequent breakouts and shiny appearance of the skin. Biophora home care products are designed to reduce bacteria buildup and loosen debris that clogs the pores. The goal is to increase cellular turnover resulting in normally functioning pores, which are able to release the flow of oil. Active ingredients in the Acne / Oily product line calm most acne conditions, leaving the skin smoother and more consistently blemish-free.

There are several Biophora at-home products that are suitable to augment the results of your in-spa facial, for all skin types. These products are recommended at the discretion of the Biophora trained aesthetician at Avenue Medi Spa to enhance treatment for greater results and patient satisfaction.

AlumierMD RENEW 30
A multifunctional alpha hydroxy acid resurfacing peel containing lactic acid to decrease the visible signs of aging and hyperpigmentation.
Benefits - Exfoliates dead skin cells and boosts skin turnover, Improves skin texture and tone, targets multiple skin concerns including, fine lines and wrinkles, discolouration, sun damage and large pores. 30% Lactic acid.
AlumierMD AHA DUO
A combination alpha hydroxy acid resurfacing peel containing lactic acid and glycolic acid to decrease the visible signs of aging and hyperpigmentation.
Benefits - Exfoliates dead skin cells and boosts turnover, improves skin tone and texture, targets multiple skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, discolouration, sun damage and large pores. 20% Lactic acid, 10% Glycolic acid.
AlumierMD GLOW PEEL
A light, brightening, resurfacing solution that improves the signs of aging and hyperpigmentation with minimal downtime.
Benefits - Exfoliates dead skin cells and stimulates skin renewal, effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation issues like age spots, discolouration and uneven skin tone. 7% Lactic Acid, 7% Salicylic Acid, 7% Resorcinol.
